Hey, buddy, in Iowa, midgrade (plus, super) is usually the cheapest grade. Something to do with ethanol subsidies. Regular is usually E0, while the other grades are usually E10.
That also means that midgrade, being the cheapest, is usually the first or only grade listed.
And I said "usually", but I haven't seen any exceptions yet. At least not anywhere along I-35.
