2000% of hardly anything is a good increase.... 2000% of a decent process is usually difficult to achieve. What does that say about the efficiency of the process in the first place?

"Ban ethanol entirely!"
Why? Ethanol is a very useful chemical. It's a very safe and versatile solvent, makes intoxicating drinks most people enjoy, and, yes, it can be used as fuel, although the way we're burning ethanol these days (in E10) is not very efficient. Your engine would have problems running without ethanol.
Although ethanol has 2/3 the energy contents of gasoline, it has a much higher octane rating. With the proper technology (a variable turbocharger which increases the compression ratio when burning higher grades of fuel yielding higher fuel efficiency), E85 yields the same fuel efficiency as E0 or any other blend. So instead of pushing for a ban on ethanol, perhaps we should push for better technology in our vehicles.

I'll believe this when I see it. Part of the rise in gas prices is now being driven by higher corn prices (caused by the drought). So let's just keep pushing food into our gas tanks.

Keep your tanks and gas-cans full! For the next 4 or 5 weeks, most of the country may be facing higher prices and shortages of gasoline. May get fugly. Be smart!

we need to end the ethanol debate.. get it out of gas.. not good for engines, less efficient than gas, increases cost, decreases food supply... where are the pro's?? Oh yeah.. it burns slightly cleaner than gas... OH then lets keep it!!
