Natural gas with hydrogen fuel cells would quickly give the US energy independence.

More self serving interest groups is what this country needs.
Wanna try to get a Neuton Battery electric mower? You can't cause they are completely sold out for 2012.
Point is: f these unnatural gas promoters.
Get solar Pv on yer roof. Buy a volt or leaf. &

Anyone who does not promote Natural Gas at this time is not getting the real picture or is getting a better deal elsewhere not to. Lets start with obama.

I don't think more CNG [Compressed natural gas] vehicles are a good idea since they are much more daNGerous. If they can efficiently run them with LNG [Liquid NG] then that would be much safer & risk of explosion similar to usiNG gasoline.

State incentives "could" do this and "could" do that.... how about these 15 companies just invest their own money and see if the free market likes their idea or not?
What these people are really after is to pocket the state incentive$ upfront, and if their business plan doesn't work out they can just declare bankruptcy and still get their bonuses. Another Solyndra in the making. The federal government has started a new trend which will be impossible to kill off.

Go ahead build the infrastructure, tax the gas a rate that it will be for the drivers price advantage, and at the same time the tax will pay for the infrasturcture over time.

Absolutely correct... new businesses should not have to be subsidized by the government. Washington has started something they cannot stop without a change at the top which is desperately needed.

As much as I support the use of natural gas, the "incentives from the state" language is a big turn-off.

Too bad politicians want to wait until next year to consider it?!?! Still have 4 months in 2012. They on vacation until then or what??? Natural Gas is without a doubt cheaper, cleaner, and more abundant right now than anything else we are using to power our internal combustion engine! Time to get moving forward. Already use Natural Gas in many states ... just need to expand the ability for refueling options!!

Sounds more like a collusion of corporate interests to promote the "cornering and control" of one aspect of the energy market in that state.

In reality... CNG and Propane are GREAT alternatives for FLEET vehicles in cities and with school buses, which all have a better opportunity to utilize the benefits. Both will require distribution centers... Fleet situations are perfect for this. Adding new tanks and distribution locations for personal vehicles are NOT FEASIBLE. In addition, it takes a special set up and training to pump this kind of fuel... it is NOT as simple as pumping Gas or Diesel! I worked in a school bus yard, I know the safety issues!
